SERVICE APPOINTMENT
CHECKLIST
Things to have ready before your service appointment
- Know where all the components of your heating and air conditioning
system are located.
- Perform all troubleshooting tips possible before calling to avoid
any unnecessary service calls.
- Check your air filter. This is the #1 cause of problems in
a heating and air conditioning system.
- Write down the Brand and Model Number of all of your heating and
air conditioning equipment.
- Be prepared to explain what problems you are having with your heating
and air conditioning equipment.
- Know exactly how long you have been having the problems with your
heating and air conditioning system.
- Make sure that the technician has enough access to the equipment. Please
move anything around the equipment away so that the technician can
work on the equipment.
- Please make all equipment located in an attic or crawlspace easily
accessible for the technician.
- Please have all pets locked up so they are not in the way of the
technician and to not get harmed during the service call.
- Make sure that there is an adult available to grant entry into
the home.
- Many times, technicians will call before coming for their appointment. Please
be available to answer the phone.
- Have the Landlord’s permission to have the equipment in your
home serviced before calling for a service call. If you are
renting, please have your Landlord’s billing information available
at the time of the service call.
- If your air conditioning system is frozen, please turn the unit
off so it defrosts before a technician shows up for the scheduled
appointment.
- Make a file with all of your previous service information performed
on your system.
- Be prepared to pay the service technician when the
service call is completed.
