A lot of newer home are sealed up
more than and older home and that causes stale indoor air along with
airborne germs and moisture parched air. By installing a Heat
Recovery Unit, your home’s old stale air is exhausted, fresh outdoor air
is brought into your home, heated, and mixed with the remainder of your
indoor air.
Protect your family from allergens in your home. SMI offers
a UV light to kill the mold, if present in yourfurnace ductwork. The
moist cooling coil of your air conditioner is the favorite place for
mold to grow, also known as allergens. This component is mounted above
your cooling coil above your furnace and sheds UV energy to the cooling
coils to stop the growth of mold spores.
 Your standard air filter only
removes the large particles that enter your air distribution system.
An electronic or media air cleaner remove up to 94% particles of the
air that passes through your air distribution system, including dust,
pollens, pet dander, plant spores, fungi, bacteria, tobacco smoke and
several others. The electronic air cleaner includes a washable metal
filter cell that saves you money on filter costs and is good for the
environment. The media air cleaner uses an easy to replace media cartridge
that offers higher efficiency.
Breathing warm, dry air can be very difficult.
It also removes the moisture from the furniture and woodwork in your
home causing it to dry out and crack. A whole
house humidifier can replenish
the lack of moisture in your home preventing these problems. Did you
know that the average humidity in a desert is about 25%? It is only on
average 15% in the average home in the wintertime. This is why most
homes require extra humidity.

Hot Water Heating Systems
SMI installs
several different types of hot water heating applications. We install
several different heating units that include gas and electric fired boilers,
corn burners, and wood burners. There are also several different ways
to distribute the hot water to the area desired including through infloor
heat, fin tube radiation, and hot water coils through air handling units.
Gas and electric fired boilers are the most common setup for hot water
heating. They are similar to havinga furnace in your home. Wood and
corn burners are a little more time consuming. These kinds of units need
to be filled by the owner for it to heat the water. Also, the cornburners
are available in outdoor and indoor models.
The hot water produced by
these different types of units can be dispersed through your home with
a few different applications. The first option is through radiant floor
heating. Radiant floor heating is spreading rapidly across the world
because it is invisible, clean, quiet, and efficient. The heat comes
through the floor in this application and flows through your body and
room objects just as the sun does. This type of heating also eliminates
drafts and air movement noises throughout the house because there are
no air ducts in this form of heating. Dust, pollen, dirt, and germs are
also at a minimum with no air ducts.
Another type of hot water heating is through fin
tube or cast iron radiators. This type of hot water heat eliminates chilling
drafts from outside walls of homes. Similar to the radiant floor heat,
there are no air ducts so it eliminates noise, and keeps the dust, pollen,
dirt and germs to a minimum. These radiators surround you and your family
for the better comfort.
